I sammenligning med The Trashmens “Surfin Bird”, der oven i købet er opstået som en kombination af The Rivingtons to sange “Papa Oom Mow Mow” og “The Bird’s the Word”, så er Chuck Berrys sangtekster nærmest noveller og små romaner. Men den sammenligning holder ikke så langt, for teksten hos Trashmen har minimal betydning.
