Inden længe udkommer en ny udgave af Beatles’ hovedværk Sgt. Pepper’s lonely Hearts Club Band i anledning af 50-året – og (sigter rygtet) udvidet med sangene “Penny Lane” og “Strawberry Fields forever”.

En næsten lige så interessant udgivelse med titlen Twist and Shout: 60 Songs That Influenced the Beatles udkommer som 3-CD-boks i næste måned. En boks, der dokumenterer den musik, Beatles spillede og sang i årene op til deres egentlige gennembrud. Det tiår, hvor de stod i lære så at sige – bl.a. i Hamburg. Og når man ser listen over sange (se nedenfor), så forstår man godt, hvorfor Beatles siden hen kunne udfolde sig både i dybden og bredden med deres musik.
