Grateful Dead er fortid, og har vel været det siden dengang, Jerry Garcia forlod de levendes land. Men bandet bliver ved med at “trucke” derudaf i hovedernes på dem, der kan huske bandet. Og bandets musikalske efterladenskaber er – for nu at sige det diplomatisk – omfattende. Så derfor kunne man måske tro, at der ikke var grund til ligefrem at lave en omfattende hyldestplade. Men, så må man tro om igen, for det er netop, hvad der er på trapperne. Fire fuldfede skiver med masser af hyldest fra store som små navne. Day of the Dead hedder pladen.
